How the lessons work
The listening section keeps growing. We will add short texts, dialogues and comprehension questions, and improve the audio and translations.
Each lesson is a short recording in Greek: a dialogue, a voice message, an announcement, a story, a timetable, instructions, an interview or a news report. You can play it as many times as you like and then answer four to six questions about it; there are 283 questions in total.
A lesson is passed with at least 70% correct answers. When you finish a stage, the next one opens.
12 stages, from simple to complex
The topics come from everyday life, and the texts get harder from stage to stage. In the first five stages the questions are in your interface language; from the sixth stage on they are in Greek.

Transcript and translation
After the questions you can open the transcript and its translation, find what you misheard and listen again with the text in front of you.
How to practice listening
Listen first without the text and try to understand the gist: who is speaking, where and about what. Then answer the questions, open the transcript and find the words you did not recognize. Return to the lesson in a day or two and check what you can now understand without help. You can replay completed stages.
Words by ear
Vocabulary practice also has a listening mode, with audio exercises using words from your collections. Read about choosing collections and exercises on the Greek vocabulary page.
